15 Senators and 9 Governors support Atiku in Anambra

On December 15, the Atiku/Okowa campaign train stopped in Awka, the state capital of Anambra. If elected in 2023, Atiku pledged to the state’s citizens during the event that he would cede the presidency to an Igbo. The former vice president also promised the state’s women and children that, if he were elected, he would put their wellbeing first. – The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) launched its presidential campaign on December 15 in Awka, the state capital of Anambra, with the attendance of no fewer than 9 governors and 15 senators from the PDP.
Mokwugwo Solomon, a regional reporter for Legit in Anambra, listed some of the attendees as Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state, who is also the party’s vice presidential nominee, and Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state, among others.
Uche Ekwunife, Dino Melaye, Ben Ndi Obi, and other senators were present. Numerous party leaders, including Mrs. Josephine Aneni, a former minister for women’s issues, and Chief Osita Chidoka, a former minister for aviation, were also there.
Speaking during the gathering, the PDP’s presidential candidate gave the crowd the assurance that his presidency will serve as a springboard for the Igbo presidency in 2031. He urged the voters in Anambra and the southeast generally to back the Atiku/Okowa presidential ticket, claiming that only his administration would have a soft place for the Igbo people and would give the presidency over to a Nigerian leader of Igbo descent in 2031. Atiku promised the massive crowd of supporters assembled at Awka’s Alex Ekwueme Square that, if elected, he would put the construction of the Onitsha seaport and the dredging of the River Niger at the top of his list of priorities.
I will serve as a stepping stone for an Igbo president in this nation, he declared. If you genuinely want to create a president, then vote for the Atiku-Okowa ticket. I have demonstrated this in my actions since this is the third time I am running with an Igbo guy. I want to express my gratitude to the people of Anambra state for their kind welcome. I never expected to see such a large audience in the state of Anambra, and trust me when I say that you will be well rewarded.
As an in-law, he promised that his government would give the state a sense of belonging in his government and thanked Governor Charles Soludo for the hospitality shown to him during the visit. Senator (Dr.) Iyocha Ayu, the party’s national chairman, encouraged Anambra voters to support the PDP, arguing that Atiku, a good in-law, will represent their interests better than the son of the state.
Ayu reminded the Anambra people not to leave the party at this time by recalling how Alex Ekwueme, Atiku Abubakar, himself, and others gave up their time and money to form the PDP.
In his remarks, Okowa praised Atiku for being a sellable candidate, a person of excellent integrity, and a unifier. Atiku Abubakar is a fantastic product, so we’re urging all of you to work hard in Anambra state, he stated. Only Atiku Abubakar, out of all the candidates, possesses the necessary expertise to rescue the nation from the misery brought on by the APC administration. Atiku has promised to use $10 billion to support entrepreneurs, merchants, especially women and youths. I beg you to put up your all so that we can win the Anambra state election.
