Entry requirements for the SCHOOL of Commerce and Management

Programs for the Department of Accounting, including full-time and part-time

National Diploma (ND) (i) GCE Ordinary O level or its equivalent (Teachers Grade I, WASC, SSCE) with four credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any other three subjects in no more than two sittings from the list below: Economics, Business Studies, Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Government, Geography, Statistics, Biology, Agricultural Science, and Literature in English.

(ii) Four credit passes in the pertinent courses listed in (i) above at the final examination of an NBTE-recognized preliminary ND program given by a polytechnic or other post-secondary technical institution that is NBTE-recognized.

Programs for the Department of Mass Communication, Full-Time and Part-Time

Five (5) G.C.E. (O level), WASC, NECO, or NABTEB topics passed in no more than two sittings are required for the National Diploma (ND). English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, and two additional subjects from the list below—such as Economics/Commerce, Business Methods, Principles of Accounts, Geography, Office Practice, Government, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics, History/Government, Typewriting, and Shorthand—must all be passed at the Credit level

APPLIED SCIENCES SCHOOL

Requirements for entry

COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT
Both full- and part-time
National Diploma (ND) (1) Four O-level credit passes in the SSCE or its Equivalent Examination, with English Language and Mathematics, Physics, and any other two of the following subjects in no more than two sittings.
(2) Four-credit passes in a polytechnic or other post-secondary technical institution’s NBTE-recognized preliminary national diploma course. Mathematics, physics, English, and any other subject must be included in the credit passes.
(3) Passing the Computer Foundation Examination (CFE) administered by the Nigerian Computer Professionals Registration Council (CPN). The student needs to meet the prerequisites listed in (1) above.

OFFICE OF STATISTICS Programmes

Full-time and Part-Time

National Diploma (ND) (1) Four credit level passes in the National Examination Council (NECO), TCII, NTC, Ordinary level, West African School Certificate, Senior Secondary School Certificate, or General Certificate of Education (GCE), in no more than two sittings. The subject must cover mathematics as well as three of the following: geography, statistics, further math, chemistry, physics, biology, agricultural science, or economics. It is required to pass at least the English language test.

(2) Candidates who have successfully completed the Pre-National Diploma (Science and Technology) program recognized by the Boards. Such pupils must have earned passing grades in math, English, and any two of the disciplines mentioned in (1) above.

Entry requirements for the SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY

Programmes

ELECTRICAL ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT Both full- and part-time

Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or its equivalent with four credits earned in no more than TWO sittings; National Diploma (ND)

1. Mathematics, Physics, and TWO other science-related disciplines must be included among the four subjects. It’s necessary to have at least a passing grade in English.

  1. The Electrical Trade National Technician Certificate (NTC) with credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, and ONE other subject. Additionally, passing English Language is required.
  2. Four-credit passes in a preliminary ND course that is approved by the NBTE and is provided by a polytechnic or a comparable post-secondary technical institution. Math, physics, and TWO other science courses are required for the credit passes. Additionally, candidates must get at least a passing grade in English.

Programmes: COMPUTER ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT

Both full- and part-time

Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or its equivalent with four credits earned in no more than TWO sittings; National Diploma (ND) 1. Mathematics, Physics, and TWO other science-related disciplines must be included among the four subjects. It’s necessary to have at least a passing grade in English.
