According to Ms. Nuela Anyin, director general of the Cross River Scholarship Board, in an interview with Voice of Nigeria in Calabar, the Cross River state government has begun awarding scholarships to 350 deserving students at the collegiate level.

According to Anyin, the board decided to get started right away to expedite the processing of previously filed applications and distribute fresh forms to anyone interested in applying after the Christmas and New Year holidays, which lasted more than a week.
Before the employees left for the break, she remarked, “They were pleased with what the governor, Professor Ben Ayade, had done for the personnel. The workers received two months’ worth of pay, and the board also celebrated by giving the personnel Christmas gifts in the spirit of the season.
The governor has mandated that we distribute scholarship application forms, so we have work to do. Therefore, the procedures for awarding scholarships have begun, however they are only open to residents of Nigeria.
Everyone has returned to work, and students are arriving in droves to pick up the forms. Work, work, and more work is all we do,” Anyin said.
Regarding the group of students who would benefit, Anyin said that the governor ordered that poor students from Cross River State might receive scholarships in any field of study, not just science, technology, engineering, or medical. any one can apply provided he or she is a student.
