Universities offer classes in subjects like math, English, and history, whereas polytechnic institutions only concentrate on teaching practical skills. They grant approved degrees in everything from business and computing to health sciences and trades. Polytechnics provide students the chance to obtain a variety of other credentials, such as certifications, diplomas, apprenticeships, Red Seal trades, and microcredentials, in addition to both bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Although these kinds of programs might seem demanding, a polytechnic education can be adaptable. After finishing their first year of study, students have the option to pursue either a diploma or polytechnic degree because many of the engineering programs at BCIT, for instance, share the same basic curriculum.
